Laurelwood Lodge is operated by the Gissendanners, a husband and wife team who put a lot of love and work into making Laurelwood Lodge what it is today. Our mission is to offer you a spacious, clean safe and fun cabin environment for your family. With all its rustic charm, it has all of the modern amenities that you have at home including Satellite TV, WIFI Internet, an incredible game room, laundry and a well equipped kitchen just to name a few things.
LOCAL AND SUSTAINABILITY
We hire local people to maintain and clean Laurelwood and we pay sustainable wages. So when you reserve Laurelwood you will be returning money to the community by helping us to put locals to work. We try to make decisions and conduct our rental operations win a manner which will have an minimal impact on the environment.
Renting a home is a great way to vacation, so that last thing you want to worry about is any problems that could occur. When you rent Laurelwood Lodge, you can relax because we are always availbale 24/7 by phone to answer your questions and to take care of problems or emergencies. Our local maintenance and cleaning staff can be dispatched in a short period of time if necessary.

Our family works and lives in the Charleston area of SC. Spending a lot of time in coastal areas, we were attracted to the change in scenery in the mountains of Western, NC. In the summer of 2008 I stood outside under the balcony at the Lake Lure Inn, sipping my coffee and admiring the beauty of Lake Lure. Later that afternoon while walking along the Lake with our two small children, my wife and I began to talk about the adventure of building a log cabin in this peaceful place. The next weekend we returned to Lake Lure and began the process of looking at property. After two years of hard work Laurelwood Lodge was finished. We built Laurelwood to be a place where families could gather, socialize, unplug and enjoy nature. We love to hear the wonderful stories that our guests tell us about there time spent here. It's great to know that Laurelwood is part of the wonderful memories that so many families have experienced in Lake Lure.

House Rules
1. The primary guest who makes the reservation is the responsible party and they must be at least 25 years old.
2. Cleaning up before you check out
• Wash and put away all dishes including those in dishwasher.
• Appliances, counters, microwave, stove and other surfaces must be wiped clean.
• Remove all opened food and trash from home. Place trash in sealed plastic bags or larger in the trash compactor located at the parking area at the front entrance.
• Lock all doors and windows.
• Return both thermostats to 55 degrees in winter and 80 degrees in Summer.
• Strip the bed sheets and covers from all beds that were used and place them in the laundry area for the cleaning crew.
• Go over wood floors with the cannister vacuum located in the master bedroom closet.
• Return items used in the game room and games back to their appropriate places.
• Please remove all food and items from the refrigerator
• Any trash left behind that must be bagged and removed may result in retention of part of the security deposit
3. No smoking inside Laurelwood Lodge.
4. Do not open or use the locked closet spaces in the basement game room. They are for the cleaning crew and the owners.
5. We are pet friendly - all pets must be listed on the reservation and must pay a pet fee.
6. Check-in (4:00 Pm or later) Checkout 10:00 Am
7. No subletting to a 3rd party.
8. No noisy gatherings or house parties.
9. Guests occupancy is limited to 12 people total including adults and children.
10. Quiet Hours in Riverbend are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
11. Open fires are not allowed. Home owner may provide a propane fire pit during certain times.
12. Please return all water toys, canoe, kayaks, etc. to where they belong at the end of your stay.
13. Please don't speed in Riverbend. The speed limit is 15 MPH.
14. No dogs on the beach at Mirror Lake. They are welcome at the River Walk and the Old Swimming Hole

40% of the total payment is due at time of booking your reservation. The remaining 60% is due 30 days from the date of check-in. The owner reserves the right to cancel any reservation not paid in full before check-in.

Returned one week after check out date
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation 60 days before check-in = 100% refunded minus $100 cancellation fee. Cancellation 30 days before check-in = 60% refunded.
Notes
Guest renting will agree to and sign our short term rental agreement and maybe required to provide a copy of a government issued ID before check-in.
